About Sri Trat Restaurant and Bar

Tucked along Sukhumvit 33, Sri Trat serves vibrant, uncompromising Trat provincial home cooking in a restored wooden house. Inside, jazz drifts across dark timber while the bar pours herbal Mekhong concoctions. Locals steer out-of-town guests here for dishes rarely seen outside Eastern Thailand—massaman curry simmered with unripe durian instead of potato, and tender pork belly stew soured with indigenous chamuang leaves. The staff guides tables effortlessly in English through betel leaf miang kham bites, garlicky deep-fried sillago, and minced pork patties studded with salted mackerel. Sittings fill quickly, but diners who secure an early table often end the feast on warm coconut dumplings swimming in sweet-salty coconut broth.

  • Eastern Trat Specialties: Spotlights home-style recipes from Thailand's eastern Trat province, including tart chamuang leaf pork belly stew and chicken massaman curry thickened with unripe durian.
  • Herbal Craft Cocktails: A dedicated cocktail bar shakes up drinks infused with regional Thai herbs and Mekhong rum, ideal for pre-dinner unwinding.
  • Warm Ambiance & Guidance: Set in a revamped wooden building with jazz music, backed by an English-fluent staff adept at walking dinner groups through regional plates.

Distinct Eastern Thai culinary heritage, fluent hospitality, and herbal cocktail craft in central Bangkok.

  • Regional Trat Provincial Specialties

Sri Trat brings provincial Eastern Thai recipes to Bangkok, centering on authentic sweet-and-sour pork belly stews flavored with native sour chamuang leaves.

the chamuang gives it that distinct sour-bitter note you simply cannot replicate with anything else, and the pork belly was meltingly tender.

  • Distinctive Unripe Durian Curries

Traditional chicken massaman curry is reimagined using crisp unripened durian in place of potatoes, delivering a mild and memorable texture.

Interesting dishes with a bit of a twist. For example the massaman curry is not with potatoes but with durian!
